Breakthroughs LOVE intersections. That's why the future of medicine will be built by people who can connect fields that don't work closely enough together... Think of computation and biology, robotics and surgery, sensors and behavior, genomics and public health.

@mariana057 Every time lmaooooo

[signüll @signulll]

there is almost zero point to complaining about virtually anything.

you either change your perspective on the thing, you leave the thing, or you simply accept it.

complaining is usually just the least useful fourth option & high cognitive load to boot.

@davidfrum This actually perfectly describes the Palestinian perspective

“Nobody is equal to anybody. Even the same man is not equal to himself on different days.”

— Thomas Sowell

People differ in intelligence, skills, preferences, ambition, upbringing, and many other ways. Treating people as though they were identical or interchangeable ignores the enormous variation that exists among individuals.

Unequal outcomes, by themselves, are not proof of discrimination. As Sowell points out, even the same person performs differently on different days. Inequality is neither an anomaly nor a mystery, but a basic fact of life.

What is more important for a moonshot founder: unreasonable conviction or exceptional adaptability?

My answer is both, applied to different things.

"What is to give light, must endure burning." - Viktor Frankl

If you want to bring something wonderful into the world, the burning is required.

The burning takes so many forms..sacrifice, criticism, internal struggle.

The light you see, is never free.

Blaming voters for not voting for you is like blaming customers for not buying from you:

You’ve fundamentally misunderstood your job.

🚨 Our next book has been decided, and it's a significant one...

Moby-Dick, by Herman Melville.

It is finally time to tackle THE Great American Novel together.

Make no mistake. This deceptive story about a whale is a work of extraordinary power. It is a sprawling masterpiece that combines epic, tragedy, drama, sermon, philosophy, and theology into a profound meditation on God, fate, evil, death, and the limits of human reason.

We will read this over the next 6–7 weeks, and discuss it in three parts:

• Discussion 1 (Oct. 13) — ch. 1–40
• Discussion 2 (Oct. 27) — ch. 41–86
• Discussion 3 (Nov. 10) — ch. 87–Epilogue

Along the way, we'll send out weekly reading guides for the chapters in question.

Elon’s advice to 20-year-olds on surviving the AI era:

Get as broad-based an education as possible: arts, sciences, engineering, and wide general knowledge.

Why?

AI and robots will fulfill almost any request immediately. The edge won’t be doing the work. It will be knowing what to ask for. The broader your knowledge, the better your questions.

@memeticsisyphus @5slimy and you’re skipping your own standard since Israel has military facilities located in the middle of and under civilian infrastructure AND has been doing this since before Hamas existed
