In 1889 Emily Williamson founded what is now the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Now the aim is to create a statue of her in Didsbury, Manchester.

Just returned from Lancaster where all Alasdair McKee's hard work on behalf of the RSPB @Natures_Voice has paid off. He and @MelissaBateson unveil the Emily Williamson plaque at the entrance to the park opposite where Emily was born. And here's Melissa at the birthplace.
