Listen, I’m all for space exploration and it must have been an amazing view.
But maybe – and I’m just spitballing here – if Amazon and other companies paid their fair share in taxes, we could lift all kids — if not into space — at least out of poverty.
Sincerely,
Earthlings
COVID cases have shot up almost 70% in a week in the U.S. It's been significantly higher in some Southern states. Unvaccinated Americans are the hardest hit, accounting for more than 95% of hospitalizations. (From @NewsHour) https://t.co/AE7UsTt9mm
L: Paul Hodgkins has been sentenced to eight months in prison for his participation in the attack on the Capitol and attempted insurrection.
R: Hervis Rogers is facing up to 20 years in prison for allegedly voting—after waiting six hours in line to do so—before his parole ended.
How can we afford the budget reconciliation package, you ask? Oh, I don’t know…how about we tax the billionaires, who have gotten $1.8 trillion richer during the pandemic alone?
There are 50 states in the United States but only one accounts for over 20 percent of covid-19 cases nationwide.
That would be Florida and Ron Desantis is to blame. Vote him out.

The problem with the phrase, "the pandemic of the unvaccinated," is that it obscures the fact that such a pandemic threatens others: kids, who don't yet have a chance to be vaccinated, and everyone else, insofar as it keeps the virus alive and well and developing variants.
The Delta variant is pretty much exactly the thing we were hoping wouldn't happen.
But it did.
