The organizers of the Deauville Sport Images Festival in France secretly removed a photograph taken by Associated Press photographer Jehad Alshrafi.

This deletion followed pressure and a systematic campaign by pro-Israel activists, as confirmed online by activist Mike Krief, who celebrated the organizers' capitulation to these demands.

The removal of the photograph was revealed when it was replaced with a picture of cyclists, a change that caught the attention of the local Socialist Party secretary, Sylvain Larcher.

The Deauville municipality justified the action by stating its desire to "avoid controversy and not offend anyone," in an apparent attempt to obscure the reality of what is happening in Gaza.

The photograph captured the reality of daily life and resilience amidst the rubble, depicting a football match between players from Gaza Sports Club and Al-Ahly Club.

The players were running after the ball on a makeshift pitch surrounded by buildings reduced to ashes and rubble by Israeli occupation attacks.

Gaza’s Government Media Office is reporting that Israel is systematically destroying the foundations of life in the Gaza Strip, particularly water infrastructure, while continuing attacks on civilians despite a ceasefire.

It said more than 21,500 Palestinian children have been killed since the war began and that 1,244 of Gaza’s 1,275 mosques have been targeted, with 1,077 completely destroyed.

The office urged ceasefire mediators to take immediate action to halt violations and protect civilians and vital infrastructure.
