Great week @PortlandBirdObs with the group processing 725 birds of 31 species - highlights being wryneck and turtle dove in the hand, as well as a couple of big hirundine days which kept us busy well into the afternoon. Thanks to Martin, @JodiemHenderson and @PBOprof for hosting!
The Indian Summer at PBO @PortlandBirdObs continues with 369 birds of 12 species ringed. Turtle Dove, a real rarity now, studied by Jodie and Oxford ringers whilst 314 hirindines incl.229 House Martin,73 Swallow &12 Sand Martin from the Crown Estate Field was impressive .
A very nice start to my week at PBO @PortlandBirdObs .Wryneck ringed by Central Oxford Ringing Group @OxfordRinging on their visit this week after being trapped by Martin Cade in the Crown Estate Field. Nice to see them again, keeping the hours of trapping in the garden going.
This week we’re shining a light on Chimney Meadow! This ancient landscape is a vital refuge for so many species of wildlife, and it’s @BBOWT's largest nature reserve in Oxfordshire! 💚#NNRFestival (1/4)
