As of Thursday at 3:15, I'm off work until Saturday oct. 7th (which is very exciting for me). During this time - I'm going to explore my city some more, do a bit of shopping, see some friends, and learn more Mandarin (my hope is to be able to complete HSK levels 1 - 3 by Feb).

I found a dim sum place that's nearby that has all of my favourite things - my favourite steamed bun, amazing selection of congee and dumplings, and so many other dishes 🤤 brunch on a Saturday could not be more perfect ✨

One of the greatest gifts my student teaching gave me was meeting my teacher bestie last year (my mentor turned bestie). She's off teaching in a new area of her country, and I'm here in China - but we still talk regularly and hear about one another's week 💖✨

Today was rough. I burned the rough of my mouth eating a steamy bao at lunch time, then this afternoon I had to scold one of my classes which made me feel sad. Finally, my students have accidentally ruined my life by telling me spoilers of my favourite series. 😭😭😭

My mission tomorrow: buy half a duck. Then I shall get groceries for salad / duck sandwiches. Now that I have my first official pay, I think I'll get a rice cooker too ☺️ Eating out is pretty cheap, but I wouldn't mind making food a few times a week at home
