Do not fabricate stories or histories and post them—don’t act like them. Always post the truth and the facts. The Olu is the only one who initiates a handshake. No one ever told you that you can’t shake the Olu if you have Itsekiri blood. That is a disgusting lie. May God punish you for that nonsense.
You don’t initiate a handshake with the Olu. That’s the protocol — even if you’re Itsekiri. The protocol never said no one with Itsekiri blood can shake the Olu. It only says subjects do not initiate physical contact; any handshake comes at the monarch’s discretion.
In that picture you are trying so hard to sell, when Seyi Tinubu approached the Olu he took off his cap and prostrated. He never extended his hands. The Olu was the one who extended his hands. That is exactly the protocol.
Your claim that the DSS agent told everyone the Olu cannot shake someone with any trace of Itsekiri blood (including by marriage) is false. No Itsekiri blood rule exists that bars the Olu from shaking anyone. People knelt because that is the proper greeting. The Olu decides if he extends his hand.
Seyi Tinubu’s connection to Remi Tinubu does not change the protocol, and the protocol was followed: he prostrated, he did not initiate contact, and the Olu chose to extend his hand. Tradition is not a respecter of any man.
