I’m furious that the UK Government has launched an #AttackOnNature. I care deeply about nature and have written urgently to my MP. Will you do the same? Follow this link to find out how.

It is a disgrace that @EnvAgency can’t do the job it is designed for. Without adequate monitoring & enforcement the dire state of river pollution & impacts for people & wildlife will worsen. But the blame falls at the feet of @hmtreasury@RishiSunak, for chronic underinvestment.
***BREAKING*** The Environment Agency has told its staff to ignore reports of low-impact pollution events, stating that it ‘does not have sufficient funding to continue to provide [its] current level of environment management incident response’

100 little owl & kestrel boxes to go up on 30+ North Cotswolds farms this winter, in part to mitigate against sites being lost to ash dieback. Barn owl boxes to follow! Thanks to Farming in Protected Landscapes for funding the project @glosraptors@FWAGSouthWest @CotswoldsAONB
@barbkiser Thank you Barbara! It was so satisfying to see that concrete disappear. I can’t wait to get the hedges in and see glorious greenery outside the window. I’d love to see with your spaces - have you any pics?
@pakatakcctv@WildlifeTrusts Thanks! We’ve gone for oleaster as we need something compact. Blackthorn hedging might be good for you - it’s dense, native and has flowers for the 🐝 and berries for the 🐦
This #30DaysWild we’re greening the grey, replacing our concrete front yard with lawn and plants. On day 1 I’m digging the first of 55 holes for our new pollinator-friendly hedging after the removal of a grab-truck full of concrete!
Shockingly, the UK is one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries. We’re losing iconic wildlife and habitats at an alarming rate.
I’m proud that @wwf_uk is joining 50+ organisations calling for nature’s recovery into the #EnvironmentBill. #StateOfNature
Exempting major infrastructure from legal requirements for #BiodiversityNetGain leaves a huge gap in the #PolluterPaysPrinciple for development.
Government says it'll find other ways, but non-legislative approaches have consistently failed. The #EnvironmentBill must be amended.
.@SkyNews poll shows challenges for consumer #ClimateAction But it also reveals hope as we head to #COP26, with 7 in 10 Brits believing we can turn the crisis around with the right decisions.

If there is one crucial environmental metric, it's the amount of land we use to produce our food.
Farming is the greatest cause of loss of terrestrial habitats and biodiversity. Livestock farming - because it needs so much land - is the major driver.
