My latest film 'The Last English Poacher' is currently available to view online on @kendalmountain Player in the 'Wild Minds' programme. Plans to release it more widely in a few weeks are in motion, but in the meantime here is the trailer to give you a sneak peek:

Once you get past the predictable header / subheader there's a great deal to agree with in this piece from @aliceTTimes.
In fact nearly every proposal & requirement is something @Right_2Roam are pushing for themselves.
I'm bemused by attitudes to predators. All the science points to their vital role in healthy living systems. Yet, any whiff of greater predator numbers, brings forth apocalyptic cries. The return of wildcats to the #Cairngorms is a massive step forward and we should celebrate.
PSA: DOCK LEAVES DON'T HEAL NETTLE STINGS.
I spoke to @LeifBersweden & Maria Fernandez Garcia (https://t.co/tvheRRpqpR) about everything we get wrong about plants and why 'plant blindness' could be at the root of our ecological crisis.

Such an utterly classic example: a credulous police force (@NorthantsPolice) think having corporate branding and some chainsaws means you're the 'legitimate' body, regardless of the standing of the law. Members of the public saving trees? Must be criminals.
While we take stock of big, new losses in Dartmoor, I want to take a moment to talk about the micro enclosures happening every day around the country. They’ll never make the headlines. But they completely shape the way we live our lives.
This is mine. 🧵
Exhausted & uplifted from a frenetic week organising the fightback to the Dartmoor camping ban.
From a sad, selfish gesture has spawned an exuberant, spirited movement.
So on behalf of @Right_2Roam I'd just like to say: thankyou, comrade Darwall.
Enjoy your useless victory.
This is absolutely repugnant. Worse than feudalism. We are not even bound to the land. We are being forcibly removed from it. Again. A 21st century enclosure. We are being controlled and deceived. The land is for all to enjoy. Support @Right_2Roam & @EveryonesStars
Here is @Right_2Roam's response to the stitched-up deal between landowners & DNPA over Dartmoor wild camping.
We have been told the public will have to pay to wild camp on Dartmoor.
This is a ransom note from landowners who will be able to revoke permission to camp at any time.
"50 years ago, high on the barren Dartmoor, the authorities built a high stone wall around a sluice gate to Meldon Reservoir. Built for safety, it kept people and sheep outside an area the size of football pitch. It's now a rich, lush cloud forest teeming with species."
Everything wrong with our politics, in one story:
Hedge fund manager buys large estate on Dartmoor.
Uses vast fortune to challenge the right to camp there. Wins.
Local people call on their MP to amend the legislation.
Discover he's been funded by the hedge fund manager.
"The findings correlate with a growing body of evidence that a lack of access to green spaces is linked to a range of health problems. Access tends to be unequal, with poorer communities having fewer opportunities to be in nature."

This is my 2 year old I took wild camping on Dartmoor and he loved it. But he may never have the opportunity to do it again. What an awful decision which has robbed the younger generations of having experiences like these.
We HAVE to get this decision overturned, for our physical and mental wellbeing, for the protection of our land and for future generations who may need to relearn what it means to love the outdoors.
The decision by the high court to outlaw the right to freely wild camp on Dartmoor must be appealed. We are living through a time of great ecological and environmental crises that is fuelled by our outdated political and social structures. @Right_2Roam@EveryonesStars@Team_BMC
In the officialdom of the courts, wild camping does not count as recreation, but a few folks intensively rearing non native birds and shooting them for fun does. Absolute codswallop.
