The Scottish wildcat is the only species of cat native to the British Isles. Though termed 'Scottish', they once roamed the entirety of our Isles. If you can, please watch this documentary on the work the @rzss is doing to ensure their survival.

I cannot believe it's the new year already. Where did the time go? 18 days do go until my launch, and 28 days until it hits bookshop shelves! Speaking of which, did you know that you can still get tickets online at @NewcastleCastle?
Join local author Emma Felling for the launch of her first novel, Fight Not For Glory, a gripping historical action/romance story set in medieval Scotland.

@BergonziBen@elizabethbuchan@thetimes I fear I have to disagree. Prices are rising sharply. My debute novel is a paperback and will be released in January. My publisher's RRP is £14.99, and I'll still be making a small loss through one bookseller.
This whole process has felt like a dream. It wasn't until I saw the draft for my book cover that I realized it was really happening! My debut novel will be in bookstores on the 28th of January 2025!

Happy 750th birthday to Robert Bruce...maybe!
If you've ever wondered why folk say he was born on 11th July 1274, or you'd like some thoughts on what his early years might have been like, I've written a BRAND NEW blog post on precisely that subject:

@HistoricEchoes@NewcastleCastle It was a lovely day! No matter how old the visitors were, getting to try on armour and hold a (blunt) sword/mace/axe raised many a smile
I'm ready for a day of armour, weapons and medieval dress up @NewcastleCastle. Did you know that in the solar next to the great hall sits one of the earliest examples of a #medieval wall fireplace in Britain? #history
