He’s Everywhere.
Trying to catch this guy was a challenge. The Book of PIV Tour finally tracked him down—but not before spotting him on the sidelines at Gopher games, Tommie games, Vikings games, small college games, high school gyms… and way back, 30 years ago, pacing the floor with the Marauder basketball crew.
A lifelong friend and one of the original PIVs Pals: Dr. David Olson.
The number of Twin Cities athletes this guy has helped is too many to count—and believe me, we lost track around '97. Ankles taped, shoulders patched, calm words delivered mid-chaos—Doc always showed up with steady hands, a big heart, and that signature “you’ll live” grin.
And when the final whistle blew? You could usually find him holding court at the legendary Green Mill, where he never met a slice, a wing, or a cold one he didn’t like. Some say he was the unofficial team doctor and MVP of the post-game social.
Thank you, Doc. On behalf of all the athletes (and fellow mozzarella stick enthusiasts) you’ve helped along the way: You’re simply the best.
Enjoy the book—you’re in it.
So many fond memories… it brings a tear to my eye. (Or maybe it’s just the hot sauce.)
16 shopping days left till Xmas. The book of Piv is sure to be a hit. https://t.co/T886mwLS3J
Does anyone remember this fair ride or what it's called? There were no straps... it would spin so fast that it would pin you against the wall. People would vomit. It was fun. 🤣
