Pleased with the progress made on the establishment of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police, an initiative that will place communities at the centre of policing through a framework that brings together residents, community leaders, the National Police Service, the county government and other stakeholders to jointly identify security priorities, strengthen oversight and develop local solutions through consultation and public participation.

The roll-out of the Nairobi Metropolitan Policing Framework will commence in the coming days, laying the foundation for a more coordinated, accountable and community-led approach to policing across the Nairobi Metropolitan Area.

Together, we will strengthen public safety, deepen trust between communities and law enforcement, and build safer and more secure neighbourhoods for all.

Today, I was honoured to engage with our valued partners and the media fraternity during the 1st Edition Stock-take of the MFC-ICLIP Programme focused on restoring the Mau Forest Complex Kenya’s most critical water tower.

Since its launch by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya, in October 2025, we have grown over 1.2 million seedlings across 1,200 hectares, strengthened youth- and women-led nurseries, and advanced the community-driven TELIS model that integrates restoration with livelihoods.

I extend my sincere gratitude to our partners for their unwavering support and collaboration in making this milestone possible. Your commitment continues to drive tangible progress on the ground.

Thank you for gracing the occasion and for standing with us as we restore landscapes, improve livelihoods, and secure Kenya’s climate future.

As we prepare for the 2nd Edition in July 2026, our focus is on scaling up impact, deepening partnerships, and accelerating delivery.
