Facebook has removed the @BOM_au page amidst the shutdown of Australian news pages, and on a day with flooding rain in QLD and catastrophic fire danger in WA. Warnings need to get to as wide an audience as possible as a matter of safety. Shocking.
Walking towards someone as they pull their mask back over their nose as you approach is like flicking off your high beam lights on a dark country road. #COVIDVIC19
@abcmelbourne 10 people at a funeral but 1000 people at a race that exploits horses for money and greed. This is the wrong decision, especially to the victorians that have sacrificed so much already.
725 cases to 1. The most successful handling of a 2nd wave that peaked so high in the world. And he did it with absolutely no help from the federal govt, no help to spread health messaging by the media, and never let the haters get to him. Fucking bravo @DanielAndrewsMP#DanForPM
From Oct 12 all Victorians must wear a fitted face mask that covers nose & mouth when you leave home. Face shields, bandanas, or scarves on their own are no longer sufficient. As restrictions ease and movement increases, the effectiveness of a face mask is even more important.
@webecca93_brown @LisaJBryant We’ve been debating child care and EL for decades. Nothing has changed but the continuous drop in Australians literacy levels. Maybe it’s time for real change, and investment in early learning.
@davidjovanov @liz_brewis @BgpbearsHawkins @sallymcmanus Yes, but what about finding aged care, or offering better subsidies to childcare to help women (who carry a larger care burden) get back into the work force. This isn’t using sexism to score points. These are facts. Funding these industries would also help the economy.
@davidjovanov @BgpbearsHawkins @sallymcmanus The budget ignores funding to age care, and child care. Both female dominated industry. Also no subsidised childcare leads to women being forced out of the workforce to care for children. Women have been hit harder in this recession then men.
.@JoeBiden has a plan to build our country back better and create millions of jobs—jobs that can help working families get ahead. Joe helped manage the Recovery Act, which jumpstarted the longest stretch of job growth in our history. And he’ll do it again.
Older women are at the highest risk of homelessness. Taking parental leave to raise children & high cost of childcare is aiding this trend. But the government says people who loose their jobs in their 50’s can just study for a new career 🤦🏼♀️ #auspol2020
@JaneCaro@sunriseon7@smh Older women are the most vulnerable and the fastest growing group of homelessness, so obviously they have the luxury to retrain and up-skill for a new career in their 50’s 🤥🤦🏼♀️ this budget is NOT balanced. #auspol2020
