@FinPlanKaluAja1 Also if it’s given for free, the off takers will still have to spend a lot of money to move the gas to the market.
So there’s still the infrastructure challenge which will need to be solved
@FinPlanKaluAja1 It can’t be given for free because it cost some money to discover the gas and develop it (drilling to bring it to the surface and facilities to process it before giving it out)
If it’s given for free, someone somewhere loosing money.
@FinPlanKaluAja1 the pricing has to be right. If the pricing isn’t right (which is mostly the case in Nigeria), it becomes a loss making venture.
Flaring becomes easier and cheaper for the producer rather than development.
There’s also the issue of legacy debts with customers e.g power companie
@FinPlanKaluAja1 Gas development is expensive and requires an integrated value chain development strategy from the upstream (producers) through the midstream (transporters) to the downstream (retailers).
Contacts and supply agreements have to be in place before development even starts and…..

Can’t stand this spirit of non-excellence we seem to be plagued with.
Got a bag from a local (Nigerian) bag. It is not particularly luxury but it is handmade and supposedly high end.
The bag arrived in a dust bag that looked like it had been rolled in mud.
Mbappe laces that into that bottom corner with a vengeance unseen since Joan of Arc lifted the Siege of Orleans. Ronaldo smacks it into the top corner. Messi lets it reach his left and sneaks it through the Gks legs. Top players aren’t just top players for no reason.
Serious minded governors are building infrastructure at a rapid pace without piling up debts, and they are paying minimum wage without owing salaries.
Citizens praise the governor who is a beneficiary of improved FAAC Revenue due to subsidy removal and NNPC remittances but abuse the president who removed subsidy.
Praise Alex Otti and Peter Mbah for building hospitals and bus terminals but condemn President Tinubu who made sure they got 3x FAAC allocation. Cognitive dissonance...
African teams can’t kill off other teams after outplaying them man it’s been a theme in the World Cup for years. Always on some “lost the game, won our hearts” vibe
I could have bet my ife savings on Ivory Coast not winning this game. Clowns! I have seen this happen to most African teams since I started watching international football. Play well, miss so many easy chances and get punished late on. And it’s rinse and repeat every damn time. Makes me sick
