🚨 MARYLAND SUPREME COURT REMOVES SECOND ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY JUDGE OVER MISCONDUCT: The Maryland Supreme Court ordered the immediate removal of Judge Vickie Gipson from the Anne Arundel County Orphans’ Court on Monday, concluding that her misconduct was serious enough to warrant removal from office.
The Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities previously recommended Gipson’s removal, describing her conduct as calculated, continuous and egregious following years of bitter disputes with fellow Judge Marc Knapp. Investigators found violations involving judicial authority, courtroom administration, professional conduct and cooperation with disciplinary proceedings.
The decision comes just four months after the same court removed Knapp, whose misconduct included secretly recording colleagues, confrontational behavior and failure to cooperate with investigators.
In its October 5 order, the Supreme Court said it would issue a fuller explanation later.
Two judges removed from the same county probate court in four months. The extraordinary disciplinary fallout raises questions about judicial oversight, accountability and how a court responsible for administering estates became consumed by internal conflict.
@WallStreetApes@popstarr65 Sounds like @Walmart needs to start getting their shit together…
One must wonder how BIG a class action with MILLIONS of plaintiffs might be. 🤔
We are being robbed blind
All these spices at Walmart with the new digital price tags are wrong. They tell you the cost per ounce, but if you multiply that by the product’s weight, many of them are overcharging. By a lot
Tone’s Restaurant Black Pepper:
- Unit price on tag: $0.98 per ounce
- Size: 8 oz
- Unit price × size: $0.98 × 8 = $7.84
- Shelf price: $8.82
- Overcharging by $0.98
McCormick Italian Seasoning
- Unit price on tag: $2.26 per ounce
- Size: 2.25 oz
- Unit price × size: $2.26 × 2.25 = $5.09
- Shelf price: $7.33
- Overcharging by $2.24
- McCormick lemon pepper is overcharging by $2.03
- Kinder’s Seasoning is overcharging by $0.46
- Kinder’s Butcher Blend Seasoning is overcharging by $0.57
There is something I want to point out to hopefully give you a new perspective on this
At first you might thing this is just an accident or perhaps just some kind of system error
But think of this, not one error has the price lower… every single one has the price higher
This isn’t an error, charging more like this adds up to millions and millions of dollars over all their thousands of stores
We are being robbed blind
WINTERS: They’re actually studying PROPERTY REDISTRIBUTION for “immigrant inclusion in rural America.”
The study examined “cooperatives, solidarity economy, and property redistribution” for immigrant families.
They point to St. Louis, where refugees were getting $2 for every $1 they put down on a house.
I’m not making this up. They’re the ones saying “property redistribution.”
🚨 HOWARD COUNTY COUNCIL ERUPTS OVER WHETHER INSPECTOR GENERAL SHOULD GET FULL ACCESS TO COUNTY RECORDS: Howard County Inspector General Kelly Madigan says limits on access to certain records are making it harder for her office to investigate waste, fraud and abuse. A new bill would give the IG “full and unrestricted access” to records maintained by county officials and employees.
Councilwoman Deb Jung, who sponsored the measure, noted that 83% of Howard County voters backed creation of an independent inspector general. But Council Chair Opel Jones immediately tried to block the bill on “legal sufficiency” grounds. That motion failed.
The debate became more heated when Councilman David Yungmann said, “the machine does not want this solved,” while taxpayer advocate David Williams argued politicians resist broad IG access because records could expose damaging information. Councilwoman Christiana Rigby raised a different concern, saying she saw “a pattern of behavior toward black men in leadership.”
The fight comes just one week after a judge restored records access for Baltimore’s inspector general following repeated appeals by Mayor Brandon Scott.
The core accountability question is simple: if voters created an independent watchdog, how independent can that watchdog really be if county officials can still control which records she gets to see?
@GovernorVA Spanberger is emptying the prisons in Virginia, just like the Taliban did in Kabul
Murderers, rapists, hardcore felons with LIFE sentences… back in the streets with your families.
🚨 MARYLAND REPUBLICANS HAMMER MOORE OVER VEHICLE FEES AS AFFORDABILITY BECOMES A CAMPAIGN ISSUE: Del. Matt Morgan and the Maryland Freedom Caucus are pointing to sharp increases in vehicle-registration costs as evidence that Maryland families are paying more despite Gov. Wes Moore’s earlier claims that most residents would see tax relief.
The underlying fee increases are real. Maryland raised registration charges beginning in 2024 and again in 2025 under budget legislation passed by the General Assembly. Current annual MVA rates are $120.50 for passenger cars up to 3,500 pounds, $125.50 for vehicles from 3,500 to 3,700 pounds, and $191.50 for heavier passenger vehicles and multipurpose vehicles.
The state says the higher fees are helping fund the Transportation Trust Fund and EMS system, and Maryland now allows one-year registration terms to spread out the cost. Republicans are arguing that whatever the justification, motorists are still being asked to pay substantially more at a time when affordability is already a top voter concern.
That gives the GOP a simple campaign line: Marylanders were promised relief, but many drivers are opening renewal notices with much bigger numbers on them.
Gov. Moore asks Marylanders for half a million dollars to pay OUTSIDE attorneys(not from Maryland) to defend him in a DEFAMATION lawsuit! AND he gets to vote on it himself! 🫠🫠🫠
This 6,000+ acre solar farm in Spotsylvania, VA can’t even power a single data center building when producing at its peak capacity… let alone the 1/2 a day it’s offline at night in the dark
@GovernorVA just green lit 300,000 acres of Virginia farmland and forests for more
The private equity takeover of local veterinary clinics is one of the most predatory scams happening in America right now.
Last month, our 3-year-old rescue dog threw up twice and seemed a little lethargic. Just acting off. We got nervous and rushed him to the local 24-hour emergency animal hospital.
Before a vet had even stepped into the room, the receptionist slid an iPad across the desk:
"Emergency exam intake fee is $385 non-refundable just for the doctor to evaluate him."
Fine. You pay it because you love your dog.
The vet walks in, checks his gums for twenty seconds, feels his stomach, and walks back out. Five minutes later, she returns with a printed estimate:
Full blood panel: $650.
Abdominal ultrasound: $900.
Overnight hospitalization with IV: $1,400.
Exploratory sedation: $800.
Total estimated cost: $3,750.
I asked the vet: "He ate a weird piece of grass earlier. Can we just start with an anti-nausea injection and monitor him for a couple of hours?"
The vet looked me dead in the eyes with a straight face and said:
"You can do that. But if he has a complete gastrointestinal blockage, he could go septic and pass away by sunrise."
Pure emotional manipulation.
They know your pet is family, so they hold your empathy hostage to hit corporate revenue quotas.
We declined the package, paid the exam fee, and took him home. Fed him white rice and boiled chicken. Two hours later, he drank a bowl of water, took a long nap, and was running circles around the yard by 8:00 AM the next morning.
Massive private corporations bought out almost every neighborhood mom-and-pop vet clinic, turned them into profit mills, and weaponized our love for animals into maximum billing.
Has modern veterinary medicine become an emotional shakedown, or are people just ungrateful for specialized care?
Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger is proposing 277,000 acres of solar panels to produce home grown “clean” energy.
That’s the size of Fairfax County, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria combined.
Ninety percent of the solar panels would be placed on farmland and forests.
Millions of trees would be clear-cut.
State Senator Glen Sturtevant says solar is unreliable and he once again called for a statewide data center moratorium.
The governor’s energy report says data centers are driving 90% of new energy demand.
