Tomorrow, your vote will decide the future of Wales 🫵
Vote Plaid Cymru by 10pm - for new leadership to stand up for Wales, stop Reform, and deliver real change for our communities 🏴
Reform have taken out a three page advert in the Powys County Times ahead of the Welsh election.
In a 478 word letter from Nigel Farage that is included, he doesn't mention "Wales" once.
Politicians are making some pretty bold claims about the cuts they will make in Wales to save money.
The problem is, their maths doesn’t add up.
Here are 3 things that, even if you cut them, will make very little difference to the amount of cash Wales has:
--- The Nation of Sanctuary.
A scheme to help (mainly Ukrainian refugees) contribute to Welsh society. Cost = £10m/year = 0.037% of the Welsh budget.
--- The planting in Uganda.
A scheme that offsets 25% of Wales’ transport emissions (not bad for the cost of one 3-bed house). Cost = £270k/year = 0.001% of budget.
--- Scrap 20mph.
This would actually COST £40m in changing the signs back. It also would cost the taxpayer more through increased casualties and higher insurance (about £90m a year).
It is fine to want to scrap any of these policies if you think the money can be better spent elsewhere. But politicians need to stop pretending it will make any meaningful difference to the ability of the Welsh Government to deliver public services.
They are rounding errors on a spreadsheet.
We are saddened to hear of the passing of the wonderful Irish singer, Máire Brennan of Clannad. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and fans worldwide.
Valerie Perrine, who played Lex Luthor’s girlfriend Miss Teschmacher in the original "Superman" movie, died Monday at 81 years old.
Perrine was also Oscar nominated for best actress for her performance in Bob Fosse’s 1974 Lenny Bruce biopic “Lenny.”

Here is a pic of former Reform leader in Wales Nathan Gill, who has admitted taking Russian bribes between December, 2018 and July, 2019.
He is alongside the current Reform candidate for Caerphilly Llyr Powell at the EU election count in May 2019.
Mr Powell had previously worked for Mr Gill though wasn't at the time of this photo. He was volunteering as a counting agent for the Brexit Party.
Mr Powell has denied any knowledge of Mr Gill's crimes at the time saying he "found it a complete and utter betrayal".
There were 3 other Brexit Party candidates that Mr Powell was assisting at this count.
