I don't often see squid washed ashore on the North #Northumberland coast, especially when they finish up in Annstead Burn so far back from the sea. The weird aftermath of storm Babet is still playing out.
I found this cute scene within a fallen hedgerow ash. I wanted to be a part of it, to shrink my body & allow myself five minutes hidden idle inside, eyes closed, hearing only the dear linnets buzzing in the tall hawthorn above. There would have been respite from pressing matters.

These are the first known cases in the Antarctic region.
