The media was also sad and angry in response to the tragedy. As a result of the event support for the LGBT community erupted within the media, gaining support and evoking change within countless individuals.

Since then, support for the LGBT community continues to grow and thrive within current day society. Although there is still evident hatred among some individuals and associations, the progress that the LGBT community has many in recent years is incredible.

They responded by continuing the parade even though they were mournful and angry. They did not want the shooting to silence them and to pause the continuous fight for equality and love.

One event that caused the LGBT community to become prominent in the media was the Orlando Nightclub shooting in June of 2016.

The LGBT community felt as if they were being targeted, and soon spoke out to this tragedy and outrage. The community responded with Pride parades across the nation, one taking place hours after the shooting took place in Los Angeles, California.
