@willmcgugan AFAICS, the timer stuff is mainly for timeouts. It's asyncio after all, not async_animation or async_cron.
Not sure you can make the scope both minimal and general enough for stdlib, but, an external project is the way to find out :)

@shasherazi @Keyboards_bot I assume the middle key acts as space when you tap it quickly, and as CTRL when you hold it.
But it could be any other key of course. People who use configurable keyboards tend to ignore what's printed on the keys :)

@FreyaHolmer Layouts change with a key press, not automatically per-app, but that's not much of a problem.
Sadly, @ergodoxez is discontinuing this model (Planck EZ) in favour of keyboards that you can *type* on, and the remaining options are DYI kits you solder yourself :(

@FreyaHolmer FWIW, I use a programmable mechanical keyboard for exactly this -- scribbling on streams. Hot-swappable switches rock for getting the right feel.
Only 1 pixel per key (called "backlight"), but "relegendable" keycaps (printed & cut with scissors) solve that nicely.

@minguezpp @Genroa @Gerashchenko_en I think the the English 'or' used to have a similar meaning, too? e.g. in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night, or What You Will", or Darwin's "On the Origin of Species [...], or the Preservation [...]", you can "choose" the part you like better as a title, but the other is also valid.
