Earlier this quarter, @EngageNowAfrica was invited by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in commissioning of the Human Trafficking Secretariat and Trauma Informed Care Centre for Victims of Human Trafficking during which we shared fruitful discussions.
The Office of the Ghana Immigration Service was not left out during our visits to the stakeholders. We met with the Head of Anti-Human Trafficking unit of the Ghana Immigration, Madam Alberta and she applauded ENA for the good work we are doing in regards to human trafficking.
During our visit to the Ministry of Gender Social and Children's Protection Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, we met with Madam Abena, the Head of the unit who gave us so much enlightenment on human trafficking and current statistics around human trafficking in the country.
A courtesy call was made to the Department of Social Welfare to deepen our relationship with them as one of our main stakeholders as far as rescues are concerned. The Deputy Director Madam Georgina Mensah gave us pointers that can be inculcated into our sensitization programmes.
We were delighted to meet and discuss the issue of human trafficking with Hon. Betty Efua Krosbi and Hon. Teddy Nana Yaw Addi. They pledged to work alongside Engage Now Africa in the fight to curb human trafficking and ensure that such violations of life are put to a halt.
ENA(EMS) in collaboration with the Chief of Suhum (Nana Amoako Darko), Queen mother and some traditional leaders from the Suhum traditional council met to embark on a sensitization and awareness programme on the fight against human trafficking.
