🍴Field Marshal Erwin Rommel eating rations out of a tin can in his command Half-track Schützenpanzer Sd.Kfz. 250/3, North African desert, 1942.
Rommel was famous among his troops and staff for his relentless energy and very little sleep. Accounts from officers in the Afrika Korps describe how he would be up before dawn, moving around the front lines, and often still working late into the night planning operations.
On occasions he slept only 3–4 hours a night, in uncomfortable conditions like inside his half-track or a tent in the desert.
