What level of transparency are you comfortable with? #eNeuro publishes with each paper the consultation, reviews, & author responses. If the reviewers agree, we publish their names. Help me learn more why you (as a reviewer) would/would not put your name with an accepted paper.
@Rcarney_eNFE@SfNJournals Ros, you did an amazing job for the journal and for the community. We'll see you. I'll miss you a lot. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
3/3 A major consultation with the Editorial Board is under way, as discussion like this are critical to uphold the standards of rigorous science and prevent societal damage.
2/3 Thank you to all for making your voices heard. At present, no one’s opinion is being ignored. Because I take the issue very seriously, and important decisions will follow, the latter require a thoughtful process.
1/3 Discussion around the paper on gender dysphoria. I acknowledge that some individuals/media used it to do damage to the LGBTQ community, and I sincerely apologize for it, since eNeuro published it.
Paper on gender dysphoria. We conducted an independent review of the article in response to raised concerns and concluded that any clinical or treatment recommendations were unsupported, thus inappropriate and should be removed. https://t.co/hi3hCE0kyG
John Houle is good for you ... if you need a solid reviewer. He turns things around within timeline and provides balanced perspective in his critiques and online discussions.
Thanks Chris Baldassano for thorough, constructive and rapid review process. His assessment directs the authors toward improvements, clarification and rigor. @ChrisBaldassano@Columbia_DPML
As we launched a new initiative on stat reporting, I invite you to join the discussion on the blog: https://t.co/XXGV0o6T7w
In particular, we would like to know in which fields estimation stats are not suited (e.g. big numbers). Thanks. Christophe
@doc_becca True, but I applied to many grants. Workplan of course including males and females, as stress & epilepsy sensitivity is very different between males and females. Nobody wanted to fund it. Not important enough! I had to use leftovers from other grants.
It is a long path to find great reviewers. Sometimes as far as New Zealand @VicUniWgtn. Thanks David Carmel for always providing a constructive feedback when reviewing for eNeuro.
Gianmaria Maccaferri is a real dinosaur (according to him) when it comes to social media. If you happen to see him, tell him that, at eNeuro, we appreciate his in-depth reviews, and his great inputs during the discussion phase to reach a consensus!
As an author, you like constructive and knowledgeable reviews. This is what Cody Cushing beautifully does for eNeuro. Thanks Cody @CA_Cushing at UCLA @hakwanlau@UCLA.
Who stands out as a great reviewer for eNeuro? Lance Kriegsfeld for sure from Berkeley @UCBerkeley@UCBerkeleyNeuro! It is great to know that we can rely on your great evaluations of papers, Lance.
