Local Lib Dems in Enfield - putting people before politics🔶️ Promoted by M.J.McLaren on behalf of Liberal Democrats all at MGSS, 3 Lloyd's Ave, London EC3N 3DS
The new EHRC Code of Practice is not fit for purpose. It does not provide clear guidance, it does not do enough to protect everyone from discrimination and harassment and it is not compatible with longstanding British values.

Labour 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘴 good game on Europe but #LibDems call VOTE on Customs Union. #Labour was elected on promise to deliver GROWTH & lower cost of living. No 1 thing would be to remove costly Brexit barriers erected by Tories (backed by Reform). Will Labour put money where mouth is?
Our amendment on the order paper for tomorrow - calling on the UK government to negotiate a customs union with the EU, as the first step to getting back to the heart of Europe.
We hope all those Labour MPs quietly agreeing with us will do the right thing and vote for our amendment tomorrow.

Liberal Democrats have always been clear that Britain’s future lies back in the EU, and we have a credible plan to get there - starting with a UK-EU customs union.
Tomorrow, MPs will vote on @AlPinkerton’s amendment to the King's Speech - to negotiate a UK-EU customs union.
We know there are many Labour MPs who agree that Brexit has done huge damage to our country. Will they back our vote tomorrow?
This is the difference between the Liberal Democrats and other parties - we seek to embrace cross-party working, collaboration in the best interests of voters, and fair representation of all corners of the voting public, not just those who agree with us. Well done @BrentLD!
All signs point towards a Labour/Tory stitch up running @Brent_Council for the next four years.
This is not what residents voted for on 7th May.
I am calling on the political parties to find a way of working together and delivering the change in leadership Brent so badly needs.
The King’s Speech is timid, unambitious, and merely tinkers around the edges.
We need bold action to save our NHS, support small businesses and turbocharge our economy.

[2/2]... So if you care more about reviving the economy than chasing ideological agenda that makes us poorer (remember Brexit!) & if you want UK that proactively works with closest neighbours on defence & security whilst maintaining compassion & humanity, back #LibDems instead.
#Conservatives haven't been party for centrist & moderate voters for v long time and - despite recent efforts from likes of Andy Street & Ruth Davidson - Kemi Badenoch has just made it absolutely clear that they'll keep trying to be Reform-lite... [1/2]

With Trump in the White House, the US can no longer be treated as a reliable ally.
Britain must step up fast. His tariffs will hurt the British people.
That’s why we’re pushing for a customs union.
Reform now has Boris Johnson’s…

- communities sec (Jenrick)
- culture sec (Dorries)
- attorney general (Braverman)
- political sec (Kruger)
- skills minister (Jenkyns)
- Northern powerhouse minister (Berry)
- health minister (Caulfield)
- parliamentary private sec (Nici)
- assistant whip (Holloway)
- Scottish minister (Offord)
The old band getting back together
More than a dozen Labour MPs defied their party whips and voted with @LibDems in favour of UK rejoining a #CustomsUnion with the EU.
As a result, the #LibDem Bill passed the House of Commons with a majority of one, after the Deputy Speaker cast the deciding vote in its favour.
🚨BREAKING🚨
MPs have voted to PASS our bill to establish a UK-EU customs union.
The Prime Minister must now listen MPs, drop his self-imposed red lines and finally go for proper growth with an ambitious trade deal with the EU.
‘Nigel Farage and the Tories caused the small boats crisis.’
Lib Dem leader Ed Davey says ‘the champions of Brexit’ have to answer for record channel crossings.
Labour-led councils, from Sheffield to Southwark, are being ran from SW1 rather than by locals.
Labour are using our boroughs as a playground.
Only Liberal Democrats will give you local champions who put residents, not party HQ, first. Join our movement: https://t.co/jxx0tiaFJR
As Londons conservative leader @Councillorsuzie is now on Rupert Lowe’s ‘Restore Britain’ board, the London Tory offering seems to pitch to people who want to vote reform but find her more well known than Nigel Farage.
Feels somewhat niche..
