DHS says as many as 250,000 noncitizens were found registered to vote across four states — and New Jersey's Democratic governor just confirmed 6,600 ineligible voters were on her state's rolls due to a software glitch, with nearly 400 casting ballots.

The bombshell adds to a 25-year pattern. Since 2000, state-level reviews in Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Louisiana, and Illinois have all turned up noncitizens registered to vote — and in many cases, actually voting. Yet no federal law compels states to audit their rolls for noncitizens or even report how many they find.

The DOJ says it's pressing states to clean their rolls and prosecuting where evidence supports it. DHS Secretary Mullin put governors on notice: "ONLY Americans should elect American leaders."
