Incredibly based post from the Eggman @EoghanH.

In case you didn't know, Eggman is a crypto OG and was a core dev on @dogecoin. In other words, his work in the early days helped birth the whole meme coin sector. He is an OG that believes in fairness and transparency in any crypto project, and that is why he was tapped to help w/ the launch of @0x52BasedPepe. The Based Pepe team set the standard for fair launches on @base and Eggman deserves a tip of the hat for helping make that happen (even though he would never ask for any credit).

There are reasons I continue to pound the table for Based Pepe over 2 yrs later. I've never known another team / community like them in all my years in crypto. They are the very rare exception to the extractive-rule.

Sadly I agree that builders make it on Base in spite of Base. Sure would be nice to see @cobie @jessepollak @brian_armstrong @coinbase convert some of the corporate rhetoric into actual actions of support for the teams / people who continue to grind legitimately on @base since the platform launched. But even if they don't I know legit projects like @0x52BasedPepe and @imgn_ai will continue to push forward in spite of them.

See: Brian engaging positively with a crack addict launching his personal rugpull, which predictably rugpulled as normal

See: The array of utter dogshit memecoins that got listed on coinbase despite having massively bundled and sniped supplies, which went straight to zero as soon as exit liquidity became available for them - while genuine runners like @0x52BasedPepe were ignored

Builders make it on Base in SPITE of Base. And it’s been a very long time since anyone outside of the insider cabal has even bothered even launching anything on Base due to that.

I'm not gonna hold my breath and hope @cobie @base fixes everything, the rot seems to run deep and the pattern of behaviour has become difficult to ignore

they talk a big game but at the end of the day, it always fukn boils down to corruption, inside deals and bad/malicious planning in crypto leadership

true decentralisation starts at the grass roots, with the builders who don't sell out or chase hype

keep doing what you're doing folks, we may yet help to save this space yet 💪

Thank you @EoghanH for saying out loud what many teams and projects are thinking. We never asked for help, for insider deals, or any special treatment from Base.

But we did get continually ignored, zero help, zero shout-out... despite setting the standard for fair launched tokens and memecoins on Base.

Almost makes one think that having a 100% organic chart without bundles and snipers is not something they want to associate with? Nah, couldn't be...
