5 years to be seen as an urgent case by gastroenterology for an auto immune disease GP failed to tell me about 6 years ago.

5 years. And that’s the URGENT list. 5 years to see a specialist about a life-changing disease I should have known about when they first detected it.

@MargotMcCuaig Isn’t it just? I was told my symptoms were “psychosomatic” and “just stress and anxiety”. Not that long ago, I ended up rushed to hospital and diagnosed with a heart condition that was also “just anxiety” for years prior.

Nothing like finding out by accident 6 years after biopsy that the results indicated a serious, lifelong disease & your GP never told you.

Then you remember you’re a woman and this shit happens all the time.

Question: anyone out there familiar with un/misdiagnosed coeliac disease? I found out by chance that biopsy 6 years ago indicated I have it - wasn’t told by GP. Totally unaware until now. Symptomatic for many years & worsening. Have urgent referral now but very worried!
