⚙️Development news from the past week

🔹This week, the BIT network update has been completed, which replaces the PoS leader election with the operation of PoW nodes and a time-dependent function for the number of PoS leaders (as part of the course towards accelerated network decentralization). PoW and PoS node images for testing have been released. The updated PoS launch command can be found here (https://t.co/27FxHtDpde).

🔹Work is underway on the revised PoA selection algorithm. Upon its completion, there will be another update to the PoS images, allowing PoS nodes to accept connections from PoA nodes.

🔹As part of the PWA development, work is ongoing to add an interface for selecting a PoS node for connection.

Development Progress

This week, we don't have a wealth of updates to share, so we're delivering this column in a text format only. However, we do have a significant development to highlight: a substantial stride towards decentralization. This week has been marked by intense activity, particularly centered around our testing environment, which was initiated earlier for the purpose of evaluating the protocol upgrade.

🔹Currently, we are pleased to report that both PoS (Proof-of-Stake) and PoW (Proof-of-Work) nodes are operating smoothly within this environment. Our team has been diligently conducting tests, refining the leader change algorithm, and scrutinizing leader validation at various conditions of the network.

🔹The forthcoming phase in our decentralization track involves the launch of mobile nodes and comprehensive testing to ensure seamless interaction between all components of the network.

Work continues on adding the ability to interact with PoS. At the moment small UI tweaks are being made and testing of the updated functionality is underway.

Found a bug in PoW synchronization in the BIT network. We updated the network and posted a PoW image with fixes, currently tests are in progress.

🛠Some fixes for PWA and Bridge UI are under testing

- Work was done to optimize the bridge interface and improve its stability.
- Developed and tested an updated history storage system.

...now we are working on the procedure of seamless migration to the updated history

- Work was carried out to search for vulnerabilities and eliminate the found problem areas.
- All reports about PWA-mining failures were analyzed, no obvious problems were found.
- A version of PWA with the ability to interact with PoS is being prepared for release.
