Mogadishu, June 30, 2026 — Unconfirmed reports circulating online claim that Abdikerm Abdelahi Eidleh — the Feeding Our Future fraud suspect arrested this week in Mogadishu — holds a shareholding stake in the city's Hodan Hospital. The claim has not been verified by any official source, and no documentary evidence has been presented to support it.

Eidleh, 42, of Burnsville, Minnesota, was taken into custody on June 25 in a joint operation by Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and the FBI (DOJ). He was among the original defendants charged in September 2022 in the $250 million scheme and is described by U.S. prosecutors as a key figure who allegedly funneled roughly $5 million through shell companies (CBS News).

Hodan Hospital, a roughly $12 million facility in Mogadishu's Hodan district, was inaugurated by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in February 2025 and is officially credited to a group of Somali diaspora professionals, with funding linked to Premier Bank (SONNA). Its publicly named leadership includes director Dr. Mohamed Isak Omar. No official record names Eidleh among the hospital's founders, investors, or shareholders.

The rumor surfaces amid broader unverified claims linking Somali leadership to Minnesota fraud proceeds — allegations that remain unsubstantiated and unsupported by evidence (Somali Guardian).

Somalia's Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, @Amohamednur , announced that Somalia has registered 15 key maritime instruments with the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Minister Nur said 8 of the documents are international conventions and 7 are protocols, stressing that they are crucial for Somalia's maritime sovereignty, trade, diplomacy, and national defense.

He added that when the current government took office, Somalia had only 3 IMO-registered treaties, with the last registration dating back to 1978. Today, Somalia has successfully registered 15 documents, while the number of ships officially sailing under the Somali flag has reached 10.
