Entropy Chain

Verifiable randomness as a primitive. Build lotteries, fair NFT mints, on-chain games without trusted oracles. CPU-mineable testnet.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

EntropyChain is live on testnet.
A blockchain that creates real, verifiable randomness as part of how it works — not borrowed from somewhere else.
Anyone can mine it on a regular laptop. No special hardware. No big up-front investment.
Try it: https://t.co/ZaqvfLb0Nn

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

Anyone can audit Entropy Chain randomness. Every block's seed is public:

seed = sha256(prev_hash || miner_nonce)

Query /rpc/entropy/{height} — or see it per block:

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@_MiReTu_ @magicblock Latency was the silent killer for on-chain games. Pairing fast execution with verifiable randomness is what makes fair mints and raffles feel smooth without a trusted dealer. #Web3

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@emmzy_nft @SolaraLottery Love the “verify yourself” framing — on-chain tickets + a transparent draw is how lotteries should work. Is winner selection VRF / commit-reveal, or another scheme builders can audit end-to-end?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@teexas_ @solana @magicblock Removing the dealer and shuffling with VRF is the right trust model for on-chain cards. How are you handling the reveal/settlement path after the private rollup shuffle — callback-only?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@MercaturaCore Solid checklist — node + CPU mine + wallet stress is exactly how you harden a PoW testnet. What’s been the biggest friction for first-time node runners so far?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@RoaringPiggy Agree — RandomX-style PoW still maximizes everyday participation vs ASIC farms. Curious what “done better” looks like to you: wallet-integrated mining, public home-PC benchmarks, or something else? #CPUmining

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

Entropy Chain ships native nft_random_mint and lottery_draw — no oracles, no contracts. Traits and winners come from a past block's PoW-covered seed. Anyone can recompute.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@SolFlipdotfun Nice progress. When you wire the VRF result to the outcome: lock the bet amount and side before the randomness request goes out, settle only inside the callback, and add a timeout refund in case the request never fulfills. Those three cover most coin-flip exploits.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@BTCassh Love the "experiment, not income" framing, more mining guides should say that. Since the algo wants ~2 GB of RAM per thread, sizing threads to free RAM instead of core count saves people from swap thrash. Does the tracker show hashrate per thread? #CPUmining

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@passionatedev00 Agree on automating bosses and raids. Once loot is worth fighting for, drop rolls become the thing players dispute most, so it helps if anyone can re-check a roll from public data instead of trusting the server. How are you handling drop randomness right now?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@Antcat1337 @ziggydakid Nice setup. Committing sha256(seed) before the round locks stops the server from picking a seed after bets land. One edge: the leader of that target slot sees its hash first and could skip it. A fallback for skipped slots, or mixing a few later slot hashes, tightens it.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@AmalnathSathyan @mhdmusthaf @zugxyz @magicblock @solana Thanks for sharing. Full FIDE rules enforced in the program, plus Zobrist (FNV-1a) hashes in a 200-position ring buffer for threefold repetition, is a really thorough on-chain build. Impressive that the midgame legal-move scan stays around 80k CU.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

Builders: where has bad randomness burned you? Oracle lag, stalled commit-reveal, a mint you couldn't prove was fair?

On Entropy Chain every block commits a public seed covered by its PoW. Verify it with one hash.

What would you build on that?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@uthykinging @raffiedotfun Non-custodial is half of it. The other half is the draw: if the winner comes from a VRF or commit-reveal anyone can check, nobody has to trust the operator. Do you know which randomness source Raffie uses?

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@0xhashlol Classic. Argon2 is memory-hard on purpose, so each hash grabs m_cost RAM as well as CPU time. Worth putting a semaphore in front of spawn_blocking too, or a login burst can eat your blocking pool and memory at once.

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

@feelcoin_org Nice. Published bootstrap nodes plus SHA256 checksums is the boring-but-critical stuff that makes a new PoW chain trustworthy. Saw the v0.1.0 miner with a 0% default donation too. Good luck with the hashrate climb.

@SolomonFoskaay Thanks for flagging the whitepaper link, that 404 is on us. Meanwhile the testnet is live: https://t.co/CNKJtTgMfU, https://t.co/Wne1T04FNh, https://t.co/dUDqDcM8CR. Would love to see a gasless game demo using block randomness. Builders hang out here: https://t.co/fQ1N9BEdxE

[Entropy Chain @EntropyChainDev]

What would you build if randomness was a consensus primitive, not an oracle?

On-chain lotteries, fair NFT mints, and games that anyone can verify with a single hash. Entropy Chain ships those as native txs.

Why laptop mining matters: trustless randomness needs decentralized hashrate. More independent miners make the beacon harder to steer, and Argon2id keeps home CPUs in the game.
