In this blog I dive deeper into the digital recommendations from our latest report - Carbon Accounting and Standards in Industry: A Framework for Innovation and Growth. You can read the full report here (digital covered mostly in chapter 6).

New blog from yours truly on the digital systems needed to support the tracking and tracing of emissions (worldwide) - crucial to informing policy and investors.

How do we know whether policies are achieving their #decarbonisation aims?
The current framework is a complex web of standards, methodologies, and reporting requirements.

๐ขFour key steps Government needs to take to mature the carbon accounting ecosystem and make emissions reporting simpler for industry.

And keep watching this space - we'll continue to develop our proposals (including for other economy sectors).
We are especially keen to hear from innovators and SMEs engaging in the carbon accounting space. DM me if that's you!
This blog is just a snippet of our developed thoughts on Carbon Accounting in Industry. For more context check out our report, published this Tuesday, where we talk about standardisation where it makes sense to enable flexibility where it is needed๐

Pleased to share the report is finally out! This was a biggie, great engagement from industry and great opportunity to do some interviewing and workshopping to test out ideas.
See Danial's thread below for more detail.

@jonburkeUK Most Business Improvement Districts I've interacted with like the idea of pedestrianised zones as shoppers tend to spend more and visit more shops when walking down a high street than when they drive directly to one shop and then home again.
@Kate_de Not to mention really we need global net zero and for all those governments and next governments to get much better at coordinating with each other.
UK Government appears to be having an ADHD moment this morning... trying to do all the things all at once and not making much progress on any of them.

So here's a short thread about #ADHD and #NetZero
1/
According to IPCC - the level of greenhouse gas emissions this decade will determine whether temperature rise can be limited to 1.5C.
There are plenty of reasons to move Net Zero into the "now" bucket We just aren't talking about them enough.
4/Fin
ADHDers have two time buckets "now" and "not now". Until a task feels urgent, it stays in the "not now" bucket.
2050 feels like a long way away and we aren't taking enough about the nearer term deadlines, putting the action needed for Net Zero in the "not now" bucket.

@Gilesyb Doesn't sound very modest does it but thankfully Great Britain was coined by the Ancient Greeks.
Ireland was referred to as Little Britain and the bigger island next to it Great Britain, together making the British Isles.
