Deputy Michael Estes died of injuries he sustained when his patrol car was involved in a collision eight days earlier.
He was driving with his emergency lights on to a residence in Burbank, where a 911 hangup call had been reported. He was traveling south on Highway 124 when he collided with an eastbound flatbed truck carrying drywall joint compound.
The deputy was taken to Kadlec Medical Center where he remained until succumbing to his injuries.
Deputy Estes had served with the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office for 18 months.

Sergeant Nevada Krinkee was shot and killed while serving a trespass warning near 5th Street and Val Vista Street in Sheridan.
Sergeant Krinkee was transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
The subject fled and barricaded himself inside a residence near Sixth Street and North Sheridan Avenue. The standoff is still active.
Sergeant Krinkee was a United States Army veteran and had served with the Sheridan Police Department for over six years.

Patrol Officer Jonah Hernandez

Patrol Officer Jonah Hernandez was stabbed to death while responding to a trespassing call at the 300 block of South Valley Drive in Las Cruces.
A witness to the stabbing shot the suspect and then used Officer Hernandez's radio for help.
Officer Hernandez was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center where he died from his wounds.
Officer Hernandez had served with the Las Cruces Police Department for two years. He was survived by his wife and two sons.

RIP. Tennessee Deputy Sheriff Greg McGowan was murdered when he was shot and killed during a traffic stop by a convicted felon. His partner was also shot and has been treated and released. STOP SHOOTING MY POLICE OFFICERS!!!

Deputy Sheriff McCowan was shot and killed while initiating a traffic stop at 4959 Sevierville Road in Maryville.
Around 9:00 p.m., Deputy McCowan and his partner pulled over a vehicle. The driver would not cooperate and shot Deputy McCowan and the other deputy in the leg. She returned fire, but the subject fled on foot.
Deputy McCowan was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The other deputy was treated at the hospital and released.
The subject, who is a convicted felon, has not been apprehended.
Deputy McCowan had served with the Blount County Sheriff's Office for four years.

Sergeant Chris Jenkins

Sergeant Chris Jenkins was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while attempting to move a ladder from I-75 near mile marker 74.
The ladder had fallen off the back of a utility truck and had created a traffic hazard on the interstate. Sergeant Jenkins had brought traffic to a stop with a rolling roadblock and then exited his vehicle to remove the ladder. An oncoming tractor-trailer was unable to stop and struck Sergeant Jenkins, his cruiser, and several other vehicles.
The vehicle that dropped the ladder never stopped. The driver of the truck that struck him was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular homicide by recklessness, two counts of reckless endangerment, DUI, simple possession of narcotics, possession of a handgun under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sergeant Jenkins was a United States Air Force veteran and had served with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office for 20 years. He is survived by his son, daughter, mom, fiancee, fiancee's two daughters, sister, brother-in-law, and two nephews. His son also serves as a deputy with the agency.
Sergeant Jenkins was a first cousin of Deputy Sheriff Jason Scott, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 12th, 2004, while also serving with the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

Border Patrol Agent Donna Doss was struck and killed by a vehicle on the south service road of I-20 near mile marker 276, between Tye and Merkel, Texas.
She had responded to the location to assist a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper determine the status of a subject believed to be in the country illegally.
Agent Doss had served with the United States Border Patrol for 16 years and was assigned to the Del Rio Sector. She is survived by her husband, two stepsons, parents, brother, and sister.
