The backyard team finished the semester with our final design review.

After a few weeks of conceptual designs and revisions of the light holder, the water table team is delivering the UV light and light holder to our partner this semester!

The bubble tube team has been working so hard the last final weeks of the semester to complete our goals! We have installed our new plastic and fabric to the top drawer as well as adding metal tracks for smoother access! We finished it up with a fresh coat of paint! @EPICSPurdue

The backyard team tested our wood sealant. We knew it was waterproof if water beaded on the surface of the wood (as seen in the image below)

Backyard team is preparing for the final weeks of the semester. We have started working on our final design document and are working to wrap up our remaining goals for the semester (testing the wood sealant, cutting the wood for the benches, etc)

This week, the backyard team worked on cutting wood for our benches, testing out our wood sealant, and editing our design document. The picture attached is from our application of the sealant on our bench prototype.

This week, the Water Table Team is building 2 of their clamps designs for the UV light.

The Memory Game Team had the acrylic shapes and buttons installed onto the Memory Game Box.

The Memory Game Team has printed acrylic shapes and created their second and third prototype. We are awaiting feedback from our Project Partners for Prototype 3.

The backyard team started developing a DFMEA for our bench design

Last week, we tested another sample of bacteria positive water using UV sanitization. Keep a lookout for an update tomorrow of the results!

During lab on 10/26/22, the backyard team built our first bench prototype. We identified a few areas for improvement in our design: the bench was too tall, unsteady, and needed additional supports. For more photos, go to https://t.co/FJJjwEOSaZ

The backyard team has completed the sketch for our first bench prototype. We will build this prototype during lab time this week.

The Water Table team is furthering research on the effectiveness of the UV light by testing it on a 35-gallon sample of bacteria positive water.

The bubble tube team has made a lot of progress with our cord organization! Our design lead has fixed the circuits and organized the cords neatly! Our other team members are working on ways to accommodate to the feedback we received last week during design review! #EPCSPLAY

This week was mid-term design review for EPICS teams. The prepared the slides for our presentation and shared our final concept. We also shared our timeline and plans moving forward into the second half of the semester.

The backyard team has been working on concept generation for an outdoor stage where students can perform. Here are sketches we have developed of the stage platform and the step stools for students to use getting onto the stage:
