Currently underway is a sensitization workshop for licensed electrical workers, contractors, aspiring licensees and stakeholders in Bomet County.

The objective of the workshop is to enhance awareness on electrical safety, regulatory compliance & applicable standards, consumer protection, and best practices in the electrical sector, among other key areas.

As part of our ongoing engagement in Bomet County, our team is today engaging LPG and petroleum dealers in a sensitisation forum focused on regulatory compliance, safety standards and best practices in the petroleum sector.

The session is providing dealers with practical insights into petroleum regulations and reinforcing the importance of complying with safety requirements to promote safe operations and protect consumers.

An interactive question-and-answer session is also underway, giving participants an opportunity to seek clarification on the regulations and how they apply to their businesses.

Our ICT team today hosted a delegation from the ICT Department of @CA_Kenya for a benchmarking engagement on our Document Management System.

Led @EPRA_KE Deputy Director, ICT, Mr. Jared Arika, the team shared insights on the Authority’s experience in developing and integrating its document management systems with other key enterprise infrastructure, including RMISP and SAP, among other platforms.

The delegation, led by Head of ICT, Ms. Anne Chemase, explored the systems’ integration, functionality and the approaches adopted to enhance efficiency, accessibility and management of institutional information.

The engagement provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange practical experiences and insights on leveraging technology to strengthen digital processes and service delivery.

Today, we held a consultative meeting in Nairobi on the implementation of the Petroleum (Lubricants Facility Construction and Business Licensing) Regulations, 2025 and the review of KS 2634, on lubricant blending, reclamation, grease and transformer oil.

The engagement brought together industry stakeholders, @KEBS_ke, @NemaKenya @KAM_Kenya, @PIEA_official and other key partners to discuss compliance requirements, implementation timelines, transition arrangements and areas for review of the existing standard.

The forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share views and identify practical actions to support effective implementation of the Regulations and ensure KS 2634 remains responsive to technological, environmental and market developments.

The Authority remains committed to working together with stakeholders to strengthen safety, product quality, consumer protection and sustainability across Kenya’s lubricants sector.

Our Public Education and Advocacy initiatives in the County Government of Bomet continued today, focusing on County Government staff and reinforcing the importance of regulatory compliance in the energy and petroleum sectors.
The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration with County Governments in promoting awareness on the safe handling and use of LPG, electrical installations and petroleum products.

Our officers underscored the need for county officials to understand and implement applicable energy regulations, particularly in business licensing, while ensuring that relevant permits and approvals are issued in line with applicable regulatory and safety requirements.

Through the Office of the County Commissioner of Bomet County, we have today engaged with the County’s National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) and Security Committees on energy and petroleum matters.

Held at Bomet University, the forum aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Authority, NGAOs and security teams, highlighting our shared responsibility to promote a safe, informed and compliant energy and petroleum environment for all.

Speaking on behalf of the NGAOs, Deputy County Commissioner for Bomet Central, Mr. James Ringera, assured the Authority of their support in facilitating grassroots sensitisation and strengthening collaboration to enhance the safety of wananchi. He appreciated the Authority for recognising the importance of stakeholder collaboration in fostering a safe and progressive energy and petroleum environment in the county.

The Authority continues to work with all stakeholders to enhance awareness, strengthen compliance and promote safety across the energy and petroleum sectors.

Early today, our North Rift Public Education Team engaged petroleum tanker drivers at Eldoret depot to understand challenges related to EPRA licensing requirements and compliance.

The engagement provided an opportunity to clarify licensing requirements, address concerns, and gather feedback on service delivery challenges. Following discussions with the Depot Manager, the team will visit the depot twice monthly.

The visits will provide a platform to address enquiries, identify recurring licensing challenges, collect stakeholder feedback, and strengthen engagement with industry players.

The initiative will bring EPRA services closer to licensees, improve understanding of regulatory requirements, and ensure operational challenges are identified and addressed promptly, while informing improvements in licensing processes and service delivery.

Today, our Public Education and Advocacy Team paid a courtesy call to the Kajiado North Sub-County Senior Assistant County Commissioner, Ms. Sussy Sanayian, to strengthen collaboration in promoting public awareness and the safe handling and use of energy products within the community.

The team later conducted public outreach in the area, engaging stakeholders on regulatory compliance, safe handling practices, and the responsible use of LPG and petroleum products. Through these engagements, the Authority continues to empower communities with practical knowledge to make informed and responsible choices when handling and using energy products.

Early today, we hosted @KenyaEditors for a media roundtable in Nairobi, led by Ag. Director General Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Oketch, alongside other directors from the Authority.

The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between the Authority and the media through data-driven information, context and transparency. It also sought to promote informed public discussion on key developments shaping Kenya’s energy and petroleum sectors.

Dr. Oketch reaffirmed Authority’s commitment to open, accessible and constructive engagement with the media, emphasizing that the Authority’s doors remain open whenever technical facts, clarification or further information is required.

Discussions covered electricity markets, technical and economic regulation, fuel supply as well as anticipated activities in the South Lokichar Basin as Kenya progresses towards first oil. The meeting also highlighted the continued growth of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and its role in the country’s energy landscape.

The roundtable underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between Authority and the media in promoting accurate, timely and contextual reporting on Kenya’s energy and petroleum sectors.

The prices are inclusive of VAT, in line with the VAT Act, 2013 as read with Legal Notice No. 128 of 14th July 2026, the Finance Act, 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15th September 2026 to 14th October 2026.

In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged. In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene now retail at Kshs.214.03, Kshs.217.86 and Kshs.191.38 effective midnight for the next 30 days.
