What experience did Barack Obama, a first-term Senator from Illinois, have in world affairs when he became President of the most powerful country on earth, while it was caught up in multiple global issues? For that matter, how much international exposure did the CM of Gujarat have to manage India’s International relationships? @RahulGandhi has led a national party for a dozen years. He has extensive contacts with leaders around the world and no shortage of advisers inside and outside his party. No President or PM handles crises alone; that’s why he heads a government! I think it’s time to put this overblown controversy to rest.

I also know my Army. Those at the helm understand the difference between what is at worst a ery minor indiscretion and gross infractions.

If people were to be punished for such minor indiscretions, we would have had neither a Sam (Manekshaw) or a Sagat (the architect of the Dash to Dacca). What made them such iconic leaders, was a gross contempt for babudom and petty rules

Deeply appreciate initiative of ITBP Officer. He met Senior Police Officer after proper apptt to discuss the critical grievance of his Jawan. Rather he saved bigger embarrassment of the Police & Administration. This is कर्तव्य of every Officer leading the Team of under command to discharge duties in national security. Don’t know what happened at Police Stn or the facts of overtones in media visuals. In service, we also approached many Police/civil authorities on similar issues for genuine help. Response has been OK. Generally Jawans face inadequate response of local police when confronted with grievances. They get small window to deal with their personal issues. They are also not well clued up to deal with the problems in hospital or civil deptt. Survival in society in current times demands street smartness. Jawans are often not equipped with this trait & people wait for right moment to exploit . Jawans don’t ask for spl treatment fm Police etc as they are like any citizen but experience says that the Cops as first responder need more sensitivity to avoid escalating the issue.
