Consequences of digital inequality:
-isolation which can affect the mental health and the overall wellbeing of a person
-educational barriers that result in a lower level/quality of eduction
-widens the segregation between people
-negatively impacts the growth of economies
Causes of "The Digital Divide":
-nonexistent or slow internet connection
-lack of digital devices
-disabilities and no accommodations
-lack of digital device and service skills
-low digital literacy
-insufficient income levels
What is "The Digital Divide"
Digital access refers to the ability of people to participate in the digital world.
Socioeconomic status, disabilities, and geographical locations are the main factors that impede a person's access to technology.
