Yesterday, we and equality organisations from across the globe called on states to mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by launching a “decade of action on equality and non-discrimination".

Despite the proclamation that all are "free and equal in dignity and rights", 75 years on from the adoption of the Universal Declaration, more than 60% of countries do not have laws which provide comprehensive protection from discrimination. This has to change.

We're also launching Discriminatory by default, a report with case studies from across the world of algorithmic discrimination arising on the basis of disability, sex, race + other grounds, at every stage in the development + use of these systems.
