💥 Big win on #LatinaEqualPay Day! @CAgovernor signed #SB642, the #PayEquity Enforcement Act, into law!
The new law strengthens CA’s #EqualPay Act by:
✅ Covering workers of all genders
✅ Expanding “wages” to all compensation
✅ Extending time to to take legal action
✅ Recovering up to 6 yrs lost pay
✅ Requiring good faith pay range estimates in job postings
We are proud co-sponsor w/ @CAwomen & @CELAorg. Huge thanks to @MoniqueLimonCA, @CAgovernor & @JenSiebelNewsom for keeping CA at the forefront of pay equity!!
Despite this setback, we'll continue our mission through litigation, policy advocacy & direct support. Workers deserve better than political games with their #CivilRights. #WorkerRights

🧵:The Senate just confirmed Andrea Lucas for a 2nd term as #EEOC Commissioner—a grave threat to worker protections. As Acting Chair, Lucas has:
✗ Dismissed 7+ lawsuits for trans workers
✗ Abandoned Title VII enforcement despite Bostock ruling
✗ Exceeded authority threatening
diversity programs
✗ Falsely claimed EEOC is executive branch agency The EEOC was meant to protect workers from discrimination—not weaponize civil rights laws against them.
@EqualRightsAdv has fought gender justice for 50 years. We won't stop defending workers now.
🚨 URGENT: The Senate may confirm Andrea Lucas to her second term with the U.S. #EEOC as soon as TOMORROW. Her record shows she's FAILED to enforce anti-discrimination laws for workers. Call your Senators NOW and tell them to #VoteNoOnLucas!

Yesterday the Dept. of Labor placed hundreds of staff on admin leave from its civil rights office, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. This move effectively shutters nearly every OFCCP office across the country, significantly escalating the Trump Admin's⬇️
🚨 DOGE and the Trump administration want to eliminate the Women's Bureau.
Check out this op ed https://t.co/VmJ5dPvidH from @ORTradeswomen who know firsthand how access to #apprenticeships & careers in the trades increases economic security.
🚨 The Dept. of Labor Women’s Bureau is under threat!
For over 100 years, the Bureau has advocated for working women in America & its WANTO program helps women access skilled trades careers, building pathways to the middle class for thousands of families.
When women make up less than 4% of skilled trades workers but 70% of low-wage workers, eliminating these vital programs isn’t just an attack on women—it weakens the broader economy and increases skilled trades labor shortages nationwide.
What: Press conference demanding an end to President Trump and Labor Secretary Chavez-DeRemer’s harmful cuts and cruel staff firings at the Department of Labor — including the Women's Bureau and OFCCP.
