An appeal to current Blue Cross borrowers resulted in an incredible 33 homes being offered to take returning horses on a short-term basis. Currently Blue Cross has 82 horses remaining at its centres and 29 now in foster/support yards. (3/4) @The_Blue_Cross

Vet nurse & head of sales at Vita, Tara Evans, says "It is great to see that owners are equipped with a first aid box and really engaged with horse health. However, our survey highlighted that owners are less confident with the best type of first aid treatments to use." (3/4)

The survey found that 7% seek advice from a vet for minor wounds & 44% would wait a few days to call a vet if its not healing. Most first aid kits contain topical treatments & the most common treatment option for minor wounds is a cream/ointment with 71% applying these. (2/4)
