The Federal Reserve raised interest rates today by .75%, the largest such move since 1994, in an effort by the central bank to tame inflation.

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates today by a half point as part of a continued effort to curb inflation. Today's rate hike is the 2nd of the year and the largest one since 2000.

They anticipate growth driven by a gradual unraveling of supply chains and continued consumer spending. Inflationary pressures will remain a steep challenge, however.

The FED announced today a .25% rate hike in an attempt to combat rising inflation.
The move corresponds with a hike in the prime rate and will likely increase the cost of various forms of consumer credit.
