Oh yeah, that time again, Box Office BIGSHOTS!
Can you correctly pick the TOP 10 WORLDWIDE highest-grossing Hollywood films of the summer?
If so, you'll be 2026’s B.O.B.—Box Office Bigshot.
Fame. Fortune. Influence. Illusions of Grandeur. Will all be yours.
To qualify, picks must be posted by Thursday, April 30th, 2026 @ 11:59pm PT.
THE RULES: 5 points for every correct film in the domestic Top 10, regardless of placement.
Then, an additional 10 points for #1, 9 points for #2, 8 points for #3…1 point for #10, etc. if you correctly guess the exact placement of any of the Top 10 highest-grossing films.
MORE RULES: Totals are from films released domestically from the 1st weekend of May through Labor Day weekend. Grosses don't stop on Labor Day, though, as films keep tabulating until they leave theaters. So, winner will likely be announced in the fall.
EVEN MORE RULES: Drop your Top 10 picks on the timeline before midnight on and be sure to include a tie-breaker, which is the dollar amount the #1 film will wind up with globally. You don’t need dollar amounts on the rest of the films, only your #1 pick.
So list your picks like this:
1. RODNEY'S RAD ADVENTURE II: MONKEY BIZ ($1.526B)
2. UNTITLED SEQUEL
3. UNTITLED THREEQUEL
And so on…
Will there be a prize? I mean, maybe. Probably. But isn’t being the BOX OFFICE BIGSHOT enough? Trust me, it is. All your dreams will be fulfilled.
Obsessed much?
Focus Features OBSESSION keeps digging in—down just -12% in its 4th week with another $24M this weekend, $150M total.
Will soon rip past MANDO & GROGU’s domestic total… and will not look back.
Insanity.
Lionsgate’s POWER BALLAD hit a sour note—expanding into over 1,200+ theaters this weekend, it is estimated to score just $1.5M this weekend.
I blame the Jonas Bros.
Power outage.
The bomb of the summer has arrived.
MGM’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE—which cost a reported $200M to produce—is estimated to debut with less than $30M this weekend.
WEEKEND PREVIEW
SCARY MOVIE taking a healthy stab at $50M+ this weekend. While MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is feeling the pain of nostalgia—$30M+.
Really puts it into perspective when you know the budgets—$30M vs $200M.
Movies being… BACK… was never going to be about one film, it was going to be about a healthy ecosystem of multiple genres all connecting with audiences… especially the younger generation. That’s why theatrical feels so locked in right now. There is a new audience coming of age.
8 movies in the $1M Club on Preview Thursday—I know we say this a lot, but I’m really thinkin’ movies are back, baby.
This is honestly the healthiest the box office has been since before the pandemic. Carry on and popcorn on. Summer is just beginning.
FYI—The Amazing Digital Circus was created by Gooseworx and produced by GLITCH Productions—indie animation. It follows a group of humans trapped inside a bizarre circus-themed virtual reality world run by an unstable AI ringmaster named Caine. The show’s mix of absurd comedy, psychological horror, internet humor, and surprisingly emotional character arcs made it explode on YouTube, with the pilot alone attracting hundreds of millions of views.
