@BlakeCallagha14 At minimum you need better integration of club hockey and school that allows practices and other development as part of the regular day to allow for greater evening flexibility for games/homework/other activities and possibly at a lower cost for ice.

@BlakeCallagha14 Agree AAA/AA good thing in princpl. Let’s see what changes come from it. Not sold it will change much. Not sure about reducing number of teams. Geography certainly a factor but also development value in playing different quality of teams e.g. CSSHL (west)

@BlakeCallagha14 Would be interesting to compare with other districts (per capita). I guess also depends as to what your goal is. Is it developing high performance hockey players? How are you feeding those levels?

@BlakeCallagha14 CSSHL a proven model out west and very slowly gaining some momentum in Ontario. However, all these have to be ok’d by HEO and im told that while CIH is CSSHL EAST they’ve been told to lay off AAA in area a long time ago. Explains the significant number of imports.

@BlakeCallagha14 IMO They wouldn’t know who players are. The Strategic/Development plan tells you as much. It views High performance as only AAA. That’s the focus. There’s no general interest to develop kids at AA (or rep B). More credit to you if able to jump up.

@Luccidor @snizzzzbone Well if you have quality on backline you won’t get exposed as much…Cornelius too slow and too many bad decisions, LDF learning. Biggest issue for national team is lack of depth in back (captain obvious perhaps….😂

@Ruxiiii4 Bang on analysis! Given the lack of quality in our backline and minimal defensive help, the Swiss strategy eventually led to too much time and space in dangerous areas.

@BlakeCallagha14 I like many things here but not clear as to what your objective/end goal is? Better coordination? More consistent comms ? More successful teams or better development (often not same)?

We have 3 administrations(HEO. HEO AAA and D14) helping AAA hockey in the HEO area and not one of them promoted this event.

Final game: not enough on ice staff, one concession open, runs out of food during first intermission, players of game/tournament all stars get Yeti like tumblers and backpacks, medals were nice. Hockey product was great!
