@letsquitteachin That was my first college lesson. Design teacher came in with our first test and apologized for failing to teach us. Most of us had failed but she took the responsibility for her actions. I’ve never forgot this lesson.

@CoreyJPeltier @dyslexiasomd Assemble panel of college & HS Ss/adults showing characteristics of dyslexia & set up free conference opportunities for discussion connecting successes in Ed and family disengagement w/reading. I heard 1 such panel yrs ago & experienced a world of differences.

@mosswa @teacher2teacher PBL project did not end but CFT adopted Resolution #25, 2019 removing all labels except for Autism, Blind, Deaf for those that preferred identity first. Removal of labels included sped, eld, foster, special ed student, teacher & aide. Instead noting that the individual is #1.

@mosswa @teacher2teacher My HS students created PBL project focused on removal of school labels. Presented ppt to Admin who in response told them they speak from the heart but he challenged Ss to find history of SPED & how many Ss were helped. Motivated 😂 Ss returned to Eng class & received peer support

@merrysaysboof Just an idea, but did you have trouble reading? If so, make sure your child, if she has trouble reading, is assessed for dyslexia. Dyslexia is hereditary.

@missypurcell1 @wevancleave Handwriting is seen as a old fashion luxury no longer needed. BUT in reality, handwriting stimulates neurons in the brain. This is a much needed task for learning to read and write.
