@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett And I should clarify 'they are not' is in reference to your assertion that social constructs are separated bused upon sex. That is demonstrably false.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett They are not! You went hard on that only to be disproven by your own questioning. The IOC allows transpeople to compete based on gender identity, US prisons incarcerate based on genitalia, and there are loads of examples of spaces/services/refuges being based off gender identity.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett This is quite the disingenuous take. I said that segregation in social constructs is arbitrary (just look up). In fact your strawman falls apart when you realise that some post-op trans people are sent to prisons that match their genital configuration.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett This is a monumentally bad hill to die on. You do realise that not all sports organisations move at the same speed or have the same agenda of inclusivity? Again remember that blacks weren't allowed to compete in pro sports until they were.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett Exactly! Because they understand it's gender that is the important factor. You're born a sex, you live a gender-identity. Funny how these monoliths can adapt to be more inclusive but you can't.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett No, I'm saying the segregation is arbitrary. Many organisations allow transpeople to compete based upon their gender identity. Rules, regulations, perceptions of sports are fluid and not defined be the genetics you were born with. Hence social constructs.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett No, all the examples you provided are social constructs. Spaces, services, prisons, sports, hospital wards and refuges aren't about biological factors (although it was a talking point when whites didn't want blacks to participate in sports).
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett It's dishonest to keep trying to equivocate sex with gender, which is what you're doing. That's the same dog-whistling that Duffield did.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett Referring to transwomen as males is dishonest and gaslighting. Your cognitive dissonance doesn't change the fact that trans rights are human rights. The fact that you don't understand this is why you don't think Duffield's comments were anti-trans or even problamatic.
@ElleBeeG@GeorgeAylett And this is why why're a TERF. I should also like to point out that your previous response was an appeal to tradition which is the crux of most misogynist talking points. Of course if you deny third wave feminism it's hardly surprising you aren't concerned with intersectionality.
