Let me give you an example why socialism/communism doesn't work. After retirement from a government job after 30 years, I decided to work at an auto manufacturing plant in assembly for 10 years. I can tell you there is no way I, or anybody, is going to work in that hell hole for some of my earnings to go to some comrade driving a taxi or serving beer.

Communism and socialism are almost the same. Socialism is partial communism and communism is complete socialism. They get a foot hold when lazy, bad people envy and want to take from the people who earned their wealth, and are told socialism/communism will give them plenty to live for free, when actually taking it from the earners. When earners realize they no longer reap the reward of earning, the earning drops, and everyone becomes impoverished, except for the rich government dictators in charge.
