Many nurses forget this part of the oath we took, "...I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession..." Let's come together to push for growth in our profession to give the best care for our patients.
To my #1 podcast of 2021, The Curbsiders Internal Medicine Podcast: thank you for keeping me company all year long! But also, keeping my brain-goo happy while making me laugh and confusing my kids as to what is actually funny. #SpotifyWrapped https://t.co/LLXgIcAkDD
@xtinakim @dianem2121 @kmciltr1@VanessaBattist4@grubblisam12@JHUNursing I'm having to educate my patients daily about the vaccine: safety, efficacy, how vaccines work, what FDA level 1 and 2 mean, etc etc. Oh, all in a 15 min time slot!!!! The misinformation is insane, and having to undo all the lies...
A6: I have seen the benefit of using media in a professional platform. I have seen it used as a form of advertising to help bring business in a modern way. Sharing the idea of social media to the practice owner may benefit the practice and patient experience. #OrgLead21#JHSON
A5: At a large hosp, I have seen employees use social media and it have a negative impact on the patients because of HIPPA breeches; I have also seen it build trust in the community. The org had rules that helped curb some of the risks. #OrgLead21#JHSON

A2: I have not used much social media with my organization in a professional capacity. It is more difficult within a small private sector. Posts and public statements need to be approved by the owner limiting my ability to use it. #OrgLead21#JHSON
A1- My current employer is a private office and does not use social media to interact with patients, employees, etc. Risks using social media in a small sector can be devastating to the office in many ways. #OrgLead21#JHSON

A6. I believe that nurses need to be critically involved with access to quality health-care. Patients use the ED for primary care d/t being uninformed. Over-run hospitals with non-reimbursement lead to reduced staff, supplies, etc to minimize expense.

A2. Nursing is the largest group within the healthcare team, making up for the majority of patient care providers. A professional organization for nursing helps as a collective voice for nurses. An example of success is the passing of California’s AB890. #HealthPolicy21#JHSON
A1. Health policy can occur at local level, I spent time on a Professional Practice Council and Clinical Practice Council at my previous employment. We collectively changed hospital policy to give best care. This was achieved using Magnet Model. #healthpolicy21#JHSON
