Speaking about the deep contradictions in human nature, Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada said:
“Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one barely use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about the relatives still in their lives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have a partner often fail to appreciate them. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the full complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.
The key to happiness is gratitude—to truly see and value what we already have, and to understand that somewhere, someone would give everything for what we take for granted.”
I spend a lot of time talking to you about the absurdity and insanity of our political culture.
Am still not sure most Kenyans get it.
Think about this.
@TaitaTaveta006 has the population of around 350,000.
In ten years since devolution, it has received KSH 42 billion in National Government transfers. National Government is a fancy way of saying "you and I".
That is because the county, ten years after devolution, can only raise 8% of its annual budget. Or, KSH 500 million.
Yet, it has a budget of KSH 6 billion.
It has a poverty rate of 39%. Over 1/3 of the county population is struggling to afford two meals in a day.
With that in mind, consider the following:
(1) in 2023-2024, @TaitaTaveta006 spent 53% of actual county revenue on salaries for its politicians, friends of politicians, and county staff.
53% in direct salaries alone. Not a shilling in benefits included in this figure.
This amount went to a tiny group of people. Less than 3,000 of the population. Representing around 1% of the population.
County leaders spent KSH 71 million on cars fir themselves in 2023-2024.
KSH 35 on catering for themselves.
KSH 40 million for MCAs' sitting allowances.
County leaders spent KSH 202 million on luxury travel during the year. See some examples:
(1) Six people from the county assembly to go to South Korea for 10 days to for a scouts' conference.
That's right. Freaking scouts. Cost? KSH 3.3 million.
(2) 8 people from the county assembly to go to Tanzania on a benchmarking trip. KSH 1.6 million.
(3) Six people from the county assembly to go to Dubai for five days to attend a "masterclass". Cost? KSH 3.0 million.
(4) Seven people from the county assembly to go to Dubai for five days for yet another masterclass. Cost? KSH 2.8 million.
I don't want to type up this garbage anymore. I think you get the gist of it.
Every single trip was to Dubai, or Tanzania, or Korea. And all of them, for nonsense.
These idiots in county governances are the dumbest people walking around.
A county with a poverty rate of 39%, which can only raise 8% of its annual budget, spends 53% of all revenue sent to it by you and I, on salaries for 1% of the population who are in government. 53%.
The "so-called leaders" appear to live abroad. Apparently, to learn how to lead. Because, as soon as they were elected, they realized that they have no skills to use to lead.
What kind of nonsense is this?
What is not stolen in luxury travel and ridiculous compensation, is stolen through corruption. And - corruption is really the name of the game.
I will just give you one example.
Take a look at the picture attached. What the government auditor is saying here is that, Taita Taveta claims to have sent to two internal county government agency/units KSH 373 million and KSH 79.6 million.
When the auditors examine the records on the other side, they can only confirm KSH 148 million and KSH 900,000 to the other.
In other words, this county, which can only raise KSH 500 million in own service revenue in a year, or only 8% of its annual cost, 10 years after devolution, cannot account for KSH 303 million.
KSH 303 million cannot be accounted for.
So, in summary, less than 1% of the population started by taking 53% of all revenue available in direct salaries.
They then spent KSH 202 million on dumbass trips abroad. 100% of it wasteful. Living abroad really.
Then - the county cannot account for KSH 303 million in just one instance of fraud and corruption, among dozens.
And the MCAs who number 32, cannot even look into the matter.
Because they were elected to live in Dubai on the people's dime.
I keep telling you that we have reached the proverbial rubicon. A point of no return.
I mean it.
What you just read above is the reality of an apartheid system. Two realities for two groups of people.
The 1%, and the 99%.
The only difference here, is that those perpetuating this apartheid system, look and sound just like us.
But, to quote Kendrick Lamar, they are "not like us".
In what other country on earth does 1% of the country take everything from the 99% and brutalize honest citizens when they question such injustice?
My message to you is simple:
The future is not worth it, without change.
It is not.
We publish criminality and corruption, begging those empowered to protect us, who I copy here.
Not a damn thing happens.
It is time for a reckoning. The cause for our lives is to reclaim our beloved country from leeches and parasites operating under government seal to steal, rape, and kill citizens who cry for justice.
