County Manager John Vithoulkas is recognizing members of the 2025-26 HEART Youth Council. The 20 students, who represent all nine @HenricoSchools high schools, were chosen based on their grades, passion for the environment & vision for a sustainable future for Henrico.
HCPS students are working on solutions to tough challenges! The student-led HEART Sustainability Summit explored how Henrico and HCPS can be environmental leaders. Their ideas will be presented to county and HCPS leaders. The summit also featured a talk by WWBT's Andrew Freiden.

Exciting News! Henrico County Public Schools has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to receive part of $3.6 million in Environmental Education Grants.

Chief of Staff Cari Tretina announced that Henrico’s environmental committee – HEART – has expanded w/ 9 students serving on its Youth Council. Through this partnership with @HenricoSchools, students are able to earn credit while making a difference for Henrico’s future.
