@grownupdan @XisNuts @MrCrucks@flightradar24 — You don’t know how much time is left with a bad engine. Risk trying to make buckeye or try to pick out an unlit dirt strip at night? What would you choose?
@grownupdan @XisNuts @MrCrucks@flightradar24 Was thinking the same thing. But definitely a difficult decision. I heard approach guiding them to an unlit private strip in the area. Seems likely it was a partial power loss that may have become a full power loss. —
@XisNuts @flightradar24 Yeah it’s pretty empty out there for the most part. Hope they were able to set it down gently enough and made it out ok. Bummer we won’t know for a while, if at all, though. News usually doesn’t pick up these small plane crashes/emergency landings
@XisNuts @flightradar24 Afraid I won’t have any more info to pass along. He’s on the ground for sure, but don’t know if he made it to the strip. Not hearing anything else on LiveATC
@XisNuts @flightradar24 I was listening on LiveATC. Approach was trying to guide him to a private strip in that area, but it’s an unlit dirt strip that would be very difficult to spot at night. Radar contact was lost. Guessing he was having engine issues, but appeared he still had some power.
