Wanna know what the Kerr County Commissioners raced to go do at their first meeting since the flood disaster? Unanimously vote to raise our property taxes to the MAX of 8%! Normally, they’d be capped at 3.5% or else it would trigger a public vote. Because it’s during a declared disaster, there’s no public vote. So while 120 people are still missing, countless homes damaged or destroyed, & our community struggling to live daily life, our REPUBLICAN commissioners max out property taxes in our darkest hour!!!
