She went on to become the first black graduate of the University of Alabama. If one young, courageous woman can stand up to, and beat, the forces grounded in race, who are we today to resign ourselves to failure, to acquiescence?
To honor my beloved Vivian - and so many others - we fight. We’ll win if we do. Evil and hate are not as strong as righteousness and determination.
We can do this!
June 11, 1963. My late sister in law - Vivian Malone - with the help of the Department of Justice and President Kennedy integrated the University of Alabama. The Governor of the state, George Wallace, stood in the school house door to prevent her from enrolling. The use of State power to trample on the rights of black Americans. In 2026 this resurgent movement by southern Republicans is both historically familiar and alarming.
Vivian fought.
Doing nothing - or capitulating - while Trump destroys our democracy is not an option. We will not sit idly by. That’s what tomorrow’s Virginia referendum is all about: meeting this democracy threat head-on with a TEMPORARY, voter-approved measure that levels the national playing field ahead of the midterms.
Tomorrow is Election Day Virginia, if you haven’t already, get out and VOTE tomorrow!
Virginia: Don’t be fooled by these deceptive, disgraceful, and deeply racist ads. What they are doing is an old trick with a dark history.
I believe we—the people—have the power—and we need to use it.
Make a plan to vote YES. Early voting ends this Saturday 4/18. Election Day is Tuesday 4/21.

Being honor bred, with one
Who were it proved he lies
Were neither shamed in his own
Nor in his neighbors' eyes?”

Speaker Pelosi is a truly historic figure. Her record of accomplishment as Speaker is unparalleled.
And she’s as compassionate as she is tough.
Nancy Pelosi is the GOAT - she will be missed by the nation.
Tell them why you haven’t voted yet or why you are not voting on Election Day.
They sacrificed and marched so you could vote.
It’s not too late. No excuses. Vote
A lot going on right now, but I have a feeling we will look back in a year and realize this was the most important story published this week. https://t.co/zbKuhvpXMW
RFK and the wacky zealots who surround him are endangering the nation’s health and future well being. MRNA vaccines are safe and effective - full stop. Kennedy must resign if the nation is to be safe. https://t.co/et53QwVOHP
The murder of little angels at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis - and so many other places - by people with assault weapons (or any other firearm) is a "national sin.”
This is not a mere political issue. It is a defining moral one.
